HandyMate wants to ensure you have all the information and resources you need to make our platform as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Getting Started

Our platform connects two types of people – the client and the TeamMate. Independent contractors are known as ‘TeamMates” on our platform. They have the ability to build a profile on which they list their skills, services and rates. Clients have the ability to scroll through a list of TeamMates which offer services they’re looking for, and choose one based on skills, experience, ratings and reviews.

Signing up on HandyMate is free for everyone – you just need to be over 19.

Our sign up process is quick and simple. Download HandyMate on the App Store or Google Play Store. You can sign up using your email address, phone number or Google account.

We have a set of Community Guidelines for our Posters and , that you agree to when you create an account. These guidelines have been created in line with the Terms and Conditions, and are in place to help all users have an enjoyable and secure experience on the application.

Tips for TeamMates

  • Be flexible with your schedule. The more flexible you are, the better chance you have to book clients.

  • Make sure your profile photo looks good. A customer can always trust a friendly face. We recommend a headshot (and a smile).

  • Do not list your phone number. HandyMate clients are meant to send you messages in the chat. This keeps our platform safe and secure.

  • Make the most of your profile. Introduce a touch of personality and talk about your background, skills and experience. If you want to showcase photos of work you’ve done in the past, upload them in the portfolio section for the HandyMate community to see.

  • Do great work. Positive reviews are crucial. Almost everyone will check your rating & reviews before deciding if they want to hire you or not, especially those trying HandyMate for the first time.

  • HandyMate lets you book jobs by appointment. However, you can also sign up for tasks that don’t require specialized skills, like furniture assembly, heavy lifting or snow removal. It’s a great way to make some extra money on the app.

  • We want to be there for you. Our team is always willing to help with signing up, booking assistance, refunds and policies for both TeamMates and customers. Just reach out if there’s anything you need.
